In which cassetteboy comes up trumps, as usual

Seriously, if I thought the actual Olympics was going to be that hilarious, I'd watch.

As it is, I'm kind of committed to watching 5 minutes of the closing ceremony, as apparently Pet Shop Boys will be playing a song. That, however, is about my limit. Well, that and the Bert and Dickie drama that's on tonight, but that's only 'cos Matt Smith's in it, so that's kind of allowed.

In other news, I now have a few episodes of ISIHAC on my iPod that I've not heard before, so that'll keep me entertained today. :-)

An open letter...

Dear "The British weather,"

Can I introduce you to this concept called "a happy medium"? (And no, I don't mean Doris Stokes.)

Chucking it down raining = bad

Extreme sweltering heat = bad

Mild weather, bright sun, reasonably warm, with occasional showers = good

...um, see if you can work your way round to that last one some time..?

Kthxbai.

Hmm...

...when you decide to do something that is a bit silly and a lot pointless, checking to see if someone else has already done it is probably a good idea. Preferably before you spend about half an hour on the first 15 seconds or so.

And guess what? Someone else has done it, and probably better than I would have done, so here, have 55 seconds of utter silliness:

Telly

Watching Doctor Who - The Pirate Planet. My word, doesn't Bruce Purchase put in a restrained performance, full of subtle nuances..? *g*

Ah...

...the cliffhanger to The Pirate Planet episode 3.

Quite possibly the best Doctor Who cliffhanger ever.

Certainly one of the best. One of the most memorable.

Lovely stuff.
