And what the heck is "the local IHOP"? - ETA: thanks to [livejournal.com profile] tree_and_leaf and [livejournal.com profile] megamole for explaining that "IHOP" is "International House of Pancakes", an American chain of restaurants. That's one I wouldn't mind expanding to the UK. Although at some point, as a good old Matthew Swift fan, I have to check out My Old Dutch...

International House of Pancakes. It's a US fast food chain (or maybe chain restaurant, I don't know; I've only come across it in the Harry Dresden novels).

My Old Dutch is not-bad, but their pancakes are very solid. Also they offer them for both main meal and pudding, and I would be sick if I had both.
