I think it would be fair to say that I don't normally listen to Three Counties Radio's JVS Show for the music. Not that I don't like the music that Mr Vernon-Smith plays on his show - just that there isn't much of it, as it's mainly talk radio. Which is cool, I can cope with that, and frequently listen to it on the journey to work in the mornings. If I'm running really spectacularly late, I enjoy listening to the consumer clinic.

Yesterday, I tuned in just in time to catch Paul Simon's really rather spectacular song, You can call me Al. I didn't embarrass myself at all by singing along to the song and managing to remember all the words despite not having listened to it for goodness alone knows how long. I also upped the volume quite considerably for that cool funky bass bit. And jigged along quite merrily through the song. It quite livened up the journey through the M1 roadworks, although for 4 minutes and 40 seconds*, my fellow road users must have managed what the heck was up with me.

Reminds me, really ought to get a CD of Graceland. I mean, I assume my vinyl copy is scratched to the point of unplayability like much of my other vinyl. Might be worth checking first, though...

David.

*Why yes, I am sad enough to have just looked up the song's duration on Wikipedia...
