BBC Press Office confirms TX times and dates for the Doctor Who specials - End of Time episode 1 goes out on Friday 25th December, 6:00pm - 7:00pm, and episode 2 on Friday 1st January, 6:40pm - 7:55pm (which is particularly good news 'cos there had been some folks wondering if it might have been cut back to an hour).

Oh, and I've just noticed - the first episode of the new adaptation of The Day of the Triffids goes out 9:00pm - 10:30pm on Monday 28th December. I'm kind of torn between my usual "keep an open mind" attitude, and a sense of "well, there's no way it can live up to the '81 adaptation...

And wow, spoilers for the season finale for Merlin, but heck, it looks like being a good 'un...

D'y'know what?

If you'd've told me, say, 15 years ago, that by December 2009:

  • I'd be happily married
  • I'd be on the verge of buying my first house. Well, co-buying.
  • I'd have a wonderful nephew and a wonderful niece.
  • I'd be able to drive.
  • I'd have a good job.
  • I'd have digitised large chunks of my music collection and be able to fit most of it onto a little box about the size of a deck of cards...
  • ...and could listen to it whilst doing 70mph down the A120 to and from work...
  • Doctor Who would be back on TV and, in fact, would be one of the most popular drama series on British telly.

...I'd've just laughed.

Funny how life works, isn't it?

Speaking as a rather enthusiastic Doctor Who fanboy (and fangirl, indeed, on the basis that neither term is necessarily gender-specific), Cut for enthusiastic Doctor Who-related squeeage. )

I just love Doctor Who, frankly.
