connotations, but I'll post it here just in case there's anyone on the Flist who's going to Connotations but isn't on the community.
The Park Hotel is full.
Is there anyone who's going who'd like a room-mate? I'll pay my share, natch, and I promise I don't bite. Hoping to make it to Newcastle on the Thursday and leave on the Monday, although I can make it up on the Friday instead if that's more convenient.
All help gratefully received - I mean, I can look around for other hotels in the area, but experience has taught me that staying in the convention hotel is preferable by far.
(PS: For that matter, I'm intending to get a coach, but is there anyone who's driving up from the London area and has room for one extra?)

Interesting copyright thingy...
Sep. 8th, 2008 04:34 pm..and I'm not referring to the "whole Stephen James Walker quotes Torchwood LJ fans in Something in the Darkness and they complain because he didn't ask permission first" shenanigans...
I watched the Family Guy Star Wars special last night, and I couldn't help noticing something. During the hyperspace sequence, a chunk of the opening sequence from Doctor Who 1974 - 1980 is used, including Tom Baker's face, along with the relevant theme tune. Nowhere in the programme's credits, however, is any acknowledgement given, either to the BBC or to whoever it is who owns copyright in the music - I think it's Chappell, but whoever it is I remember both in 1996 and 2005 there were questions over whether they'd grant use of the music to the versions of Doctor Who being revived in those years.
And no, it's nothing major, but it just struck me as a bit odd.

Depression.
Sep. 8th, 2008 09:25 pmY'know what I hate most about depression?
It's those moments when I think I've got it sussed, where events in life are going reasonably swimmingly, and then something really utterly trivial happens (like, for example, someone shouting at me) and throws me completely off kilter and my reaction is to totally head back into the depression 'cos I can't think where else to go.
And some stuff has happened this evening to sort of help things head back up - like chatting to Sarah a few minutes ago, and bumping into one of our cell group leaders on the way back from work - but even so, right now, I feel crap.
To put it bluntly, not good.

Spooks: Code 9
Sep. 8th, 2008 11:21 pmFinally watched episode 6, and...
...bloody hell, that was cracking stuff. ( Spoiler. )
Note to BBC3 (like, yeah, they're *really* readiing my LJ): There'd better be a second series. Otherwise I may be forced to get mad at you. Or at least to sulk in your general direction. And trust me, you wouldn't like me when I'm sulking.
David.
