Well, with the caveat that predicting the future is a mug's game...

I actually don't know. Work wise, I'd like to think that I might have taken some sort of steps into one of my possible alternate careers - published author (well writing and finishing something would be a start); computer programmer (training is available); ordained ministry/evangelist (now that Sarah and I are getting settled within the local Methodist church, that's a start; possibly getting back into local preacher training would be a start, but I'd like to have a chat with the minister before I decide anything for definite). Whether I'm still working where I am now depends, to a very large extent, on the government and a number of unknowable factors. As a possible side line there's still the idea of making a living out of a hobby (to whit, digitising vinyl records, and indeed tapes, for people).

I'd also like to be more active politically, rather than just putting an "x" in the box every few years. Choose and join a party, do a bit of campaigning.

In terms of health, I'd like to lose a bit of weight, get into some sort of exercise regime, hopefully conquer my depression.

Generally, I'd like to be way more organised than I am at the moment. Heck, slightly more organised would be a start.

Geographically, I hope that - unless any of the work factors come into play - Sarah and I will still be in Hemel Hempstead. It's possible that we might have a child or two by then. I still vacillate on the issue of whether or not I actually want to be a parent, though...

I think I've seen Buster - the film about Buster Edwards and his involvement in the Great Train Robbery - precisely once, about 20 years ago when it was on ITV. I'm sort of vaguely meaning to put that right (translation: I've put the DVD on my Amazon wishlist), but I've had the soundtrack (on tape, now on my iPod) for some years and am loving it. It's a lovely little blend - two main orchestral suites by Anne Dudley and a few little snippets dotted here and there, a clutch of '60s hits, and some contemporary ones - three Phil Collins tracks, and the Four Tops' rather divine (IMO) Loco in Acapulco.

'Tis a source of much enjoyment.

And I've just learned that Buster Edwards was robbed on his flower stall by Dexter Fletcher. O_O
