Why is it...

...that since I've moved out of Chelmsford, things I'd've loved to have been there for have happened? Y'know, like Pet Shop Boys playing at the V Festival, a Nando's opening there, a Toby opening there, and now it's been awarded city status.

I may feel a bit less narked when Pet Shop Boys play a gig 25 minutes walk from my doorstep, and Hemel gets a Nando's and a Toby. I'm not holding out much hope on the city front - drably functional '60s town is the best it aspires to...
