In which TV land displays a lack of originality...

There's to be an American remake of House of Cards.

Is that strictly necessary? I mean, okay, caveat, I've never seen the original*, but I gather it's held in very high regard...and however good this new one is, it doesn't have scripts by Andrew Davies, and will sadly lack Ian Richardson.

Mind you, David Fincher's involved as an executive producer and also directing the pilot episode. Could turn out to be good.

Well...I might think that. Francis Urquhart couldn't possibly comment...





*Probably it, and the sequels, and Michael Dobbs' novels, really ought to go on my Bucket List...

Poem...

...I was reminded about this yesterday. I think the first couple of lines may be subject to some variation, but I've tried to come up with something that rhymes and scans with the other two lines.

We had a son, his name was Joe,
Whom we shall see no more.
For what he thought was H₂O
Was H₂SO₄.

Well, yes. Of course.

Although the word "now" is kind of redundant, IMHO...
