There's to be an American remake of House of Cards.

Is that strictly necessary? I mean, okay, caveat, I've never seen the original*, but I gather it's held in very high regard...and however good this new one is, it doesn't have scripts by Andrew Davies, and will sadly lack Ian Richardson.

Mind you, David Fincher's involved as an executive producer and also directing the pilot episode. Could turn out to be good.

Well...I might think that. Francis Urquhart couldn't possibly comment...





*Probably it, and the sequels, and Michael Dobbs' novels, really ought to go on my Bucket List...

It's actually quite an interesting idea, IMO - the American political system works sufficiently differently that it would have to be quite freely adapted, which could be a lot of fun.
