Cinematic tendencies

Since The Men Who Stare At Goats only went on release a mere three weeks ago, why on earth is it so darned difficult to find a cinema showing it either in Bishop's Stortford or Chelmsford? It's one of the few films Sarah has shown any interest in seeing, so I was hoping we could go to see it this weekend just gone, but 'twas not to be.

Still, I'm kind of vaguely hoping we might be able to see A Christmas Carol, which looks like it could be rather good. (Although honestly? Y'can't beat The Muppet Christmas Carol..!)

(And saw the trailer for Avatar last night, which looks interesting. If Sarah can overcome her Titanic aversion to James Camerson, y'never know, we might see it together...)

I'm off to see A Christmas Carol on Friday. I also doubt it'll be as good as Muppet Christmas Carol but I'd still like to see it. I've been told it's very pretty but tends to slip into creepy territory (Gary Oldman as Tiny Tim! Apparently it's a huge Gary Oldman head on a tiny body!) and happy!Scrooge is rather terrifying. Though all this just makes me want to see it more :)

Ant really wants to see Avatar but I'm worried that it's just going to be a generic sci-fi action flick. We shall see...
