Musical musing

My latest "big thing" - as I've alluded to briefly hereabouts - is converting my collection of 7" singles to mp3 format (or occasionally, cheating it).

I recently did my two Linda Ronstadt singles (Somewhere Out There and Don't Know Much.

Much as I love the singles themselves (don't mock), the b-sides are pretty much unexplored territory for me. So I was rather pleasantly surprised listening to Don't Know Much's b-side, Hurt So Bad (originally from Linda's 1979 album Mad Love), because it sounds very much like early Laura Branigan (and in my opinion, early Laura Branigan is a very good thing to sound like).

Really rather a good little song.

Musical musings part 2

So, Mamma Mia goes on general release on July 10th.

Anybody want to join me seeing it somewhere in a central London-ish location on the weekend of the 12th? I could do with a bit of fun.
