Yippee!!!

Just got the list of what's on at the local theatre for the next few months, and Mitch Benn & the Distractions will be at the Chelmsford Cramphorn theatre on November 7th.

Suffice it to say, I shall be there!

(Oh, and we also have The Reduced Shakespeare Company, Rhona Cameron, Rich Hall and Mark Steel playing on various dates. All of which I could be interested in.)

My brain is being seriously crap today.

Which is rather annoying. I'm trying to concentrate on work but it won't let me.

Oh well, 3½ hours until driving lesson (is that a good idea with my brain being crap?) and then back home.

Music

Well, the project of transferring all my 7" singles into the computer as mp3 files has been completed. Sort of. Ish. There are a few tracks in there that need to be re-done, and some covers that I'm going to scan in for Coverflow, but that aside, 7 weeks of work completed, everything from a-ha to Yazz. Nice.

Oh which note, I'm working on sort of a mixtape thing. It's basically a celebration of the outsider - geeks, gays & lesbians, anyone who doesn't fit into the norms that society lays down as being "the categories you've got to fit into for us to accept you". I've got about a dozen tracks already lined up, with a few more possibilities, but if anyone has any ideas of songs they think should be on such a mixtape, I'm open to suggestions.

...I've just set up a couple of LJ communities, based on apparent gaps in the market.

The first is for fans of Goodnight Sweetheart, seeing as I was reminded of it by the recent ITV3 repeats and wondered if there was much of a fandom for it (I suspect not, although there are 35 people who list it as an interest on LJ). I'm mostly wondering if there's much in the way of post-series fanfic. Anyway, the comm is at goodnight_gary

The second community is for fans of Martyn Joseph, and goes by the cheerfully unimaginative title of martyn_joseph. I know there are a few fans of Martyn on the Flist, so feel free to pop over and invite your friends.
