Aug. 14th, 2008 10:09 amWatched Who Do You Think You Are? last night - I always find it a fascinating programme, and this one was no exception, as Patsy Kensit (♥) learned more about her family history. Mind you, at just about every turn of the journey, I knew my mum would be thinking, "in real life you don't get experts meeting you and presenting you with reams of carefully researched paperwork". Thus whilst in the few weeks or however long it took to make the programme, Patsy got back to the late-1700s with one branch of her family, mum after 30+ years of research still hasn't managed to get further back than the early 1800s.
Oh well.
Future instalments look to be interesting, particularly the ones about Boris Johnson and David Suchet (the latter of whom IIRC doesn't often do interviews, so the rather intimate and candid nature of the programme could be particularly fascinating).
In pointless news, I bought some peaches yesterday (they'd got married in Las Vegas earlier in the week. Ha ha. D'y'see what I did there?). You know how sometimes you get peaches and they're rock solid? And sometimes you leave it just a little too long for them to ripen and you get to them and they're shrivelled already? Or sometimes (particularly, but not exclusively, out of season) they're tasteless and vile? Yeah. These, though, are just perfect. Lovely. Delicious.
Normally if I want to wake up early in the morning, I set the alarm on my mobile 'phone, which wakes me up (to the strains of Peter Howell's rendition of the Doctor Who theme tune). I didn't bother this morning. Instead, though, Sarah - responding to a text I'd sent her yesterday - 'phoned me. Being woken up by my wonderful fiancĂ©e - that's a lovely alarm call. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
And I got showered and cleaned and fedded and did my morning Bible reading and still managed to fit in a bit of tidying up and got to work on time this morning. Things are going pretty well right now.
There is a negative, but that can wait.
David.
