Every so often I'd say at least monthly, but it's easy to lose track) we get a bit of promotional gubbins from Virgin Media. I'd quite like it to stop, but I'm honestly not sure how. It doesn't have our name or address on it, it's simply addressed "to occupier" and the envelope says "delivered by Royal Mail". Does anyone know how to make these unwanted mailings stop? ISTR on a Now Show Mitch Benn bringing folks' attention to a postal equivalent of the Telephone Preference Service, so if anybody has the details for that it could be useful.

(I suppose "Dear Virgin Media, won't someone think of the rainforests??!" could be a start too...)

Thanks in advance.

The TPS equivalent, MPS, doesn't get rid of unaddressed mail. http://www.mpsonline.org.uk/mpsr/

Unaddressed mail can be dealt with by sending off for, filling out and posting back a form - http://www2.royalmail.com/you-home/controlling-your-mail - but it only lasts two years before you have to do it again.

you beat me to it

I hate getting stuff from Virgin as we don't even live in a cable area, so there is little they can offer us
