...was good. IMO. It's odd - the first series took a while to really grow on me, but I'm really loving it now. I notice it's directed by Peter Cattaneo, who also directed The Full Monty. I'm pretty sure it's the writing and acting that really make it what it is (even though I've not been an Anglican for many years, having more recently been Methodist or new house church movementy thing, there are still lovely little moments that make me think, "oh yes, I recognise that," and Tom Hollander is brilliantly believable), but having a top notch director can't hurt...
