On Saturday in HMV, I bought the Children in Need single, both on CD and DVD, 'cos my mum had mentioned wanting a copy of it.

Last night I took it round and we watched it, with Jakob and Eleni. Mum and I were having great fun trying to identify all the participants (and I was rather gleeful at the sight of the Wombles playing the guitar solo on Don't Stop, and Andy Pandy joining them on air guitar!!!), but, oh, Jakob was just having fun and enjoying it, and Eleni, despite being a mere 13 months old, was getting seriously into it, jigging away and clapping enthusiastically at all the different characters! It was such a wonderful family occasion.

Since The Men Who Stare At Goats only went on release a mere three weeks ago, why on earth is it so darned difficult to find a cinema showing it either in Bishop's Stortford or Chelmsford? It's one of the few films Sarah has shown any interest in seeing, so I was hoping we could go to see it this weekend just gone, but 'twas not to be.

Still, I'm kind of vaguely hoping we might be able to see A Christmas Carol, which looks like it could be rather good. (Although honestly? Y'can't beat The Muppet Christmas Carol..!)

(And saw the trailer for Avatar last night, which looks interesting. If Sarah can overcome her Titanic aversion to James Camerson, y'never know, we might see it together...)

  • 14:42 @missgems I might have to see this. I've always quite liked Emilia Fox and am warming to the charms of Katie McGrath... #

D'y'know what?

If you'd've told me, say, 15 years ago, that by December 2009:

  • I'd be happily married
  • I'd be on the verge of buying my first house. Well, co-buying.
  • I'd have a wonderful nephew and a wonderful niece.
  • I'd be able to drive.
  • I'd have a good job.
  • I'd have digitised large chunks of my music collection and be able to fit most of it onto a little box about the size of a deck of cards...
  • ...and could listen to it whilst doing 70mph down the A120 to and from work...
  • Doctor Who would be back on TV and, in fact, would be one of the most popular drama series on British telly.

...I'd've just laughed.

Funny how life works, isn't it?

Just...post anonymous nice stuff about me if you like.

To be honest, it'd be kind of appreciated right now.
